Thought the Droid slider was dead? Think again. Pictures of an alleged Droid 5 leaked on Chinese site Weibo. The physical QWERTY keyboard is back!

Remember the original Droid, that venerable 2009 smartphone on Verizon that almost single-handedly catapulted Android to ubiquity? At the time, the manufacturer, Motorola, touted the device’s QWERTY slider as an improvement over the iPhone’s on-screen keys. Unfortunately for the company, a number of phone reviewers found the Droid keyboard’s weak tactility and odd button placement frustrating. To Motorola’s credit, most (if not all) concerns were addressed in the Droid’s follow-ups, the Droid 2, 3, and 4, but the QWERTY slide-out by then had become an anomoly in a world of touch-focused slabs. In truth, haptic feedback and the limitless potential software affords make on-screen keyboards a pretty logical choice nowadays, but a few die-hard physical keyboard users apparently exist, because leaked photos show what appears to a new Motorola slider – presumably the Droid 5 – in the works.
The pictures, posted on Chinese social networking site Weibo, show a slider subtly different from its predecessors. The alleged Droid 5 ditches the series’ hallmark capacitive keys in favor of a potentially larger screen. (Somewhere in the 4.5-inch range, if Motorola’s other sliders are any indication.) Unremarkably, NFC and wireless charging hardware appear present, as does (big shock!) the signature laser cut 5-row keyboard. Somewhat interestingly, the poster says the new Droid will be the latest smartphone with a water and dust resistant design, an increasing trend. Exactly how resistant is, as are the phone’s dimensions, internals, and launch info, at this point unknown.

Install and Run Android 4.0 SDK and Ice Cream Sandwich on PC

Google announced Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, on October 19. Android 4.0 SDK has also been released for developers. 1st smart phone Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Google Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) will be available for customers in November 2011.
In this tutorial we will learn how to run Android 4.0 SDK  and Ice Cream Sandwich in an emulator and explore the features of new Google Mobile OS.
See below the step-by-step instructions on how to set up and install the Android 4.0 SDK on your PC.
Step 1 - Download the Android SDK files from: HERE. Select x86 or Windows Version if you are using Microsoft Windows OS.
Step 2 - Extract or install the Android SDK files you just downloaded to any location on your PC.
Step 3 - Now, open the folder where you have extracted the SDK and run the “SDK Manager” application.

Step 4 - The application will load and fetch all the Android SDK packages.

Step 5 - Once the SDK manger complete the loading process, now you can select the packages you want to install. Here, we will be only selecting the “Android 4.0 (API 14)” and “Android SDK Platform-tools” (under Tools).

Step 6 - Now Click on “Install  packages…”. You will be prompted to confirm the packages you have selected for installation.

Step 7 - Then Click on the “Install” button and wait for the all the packages to download from internet and install.

Click Finish and Close the SDK Manager, when all the packages are downloaded and installed on your PC.

Set Up Android 4.0 Emulator

Once you installed Android SDK r14 packages and tools, now its time to set up the Android Emulator so that you can run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on your PC.
Step 8 - Open Android SDK folder and run “AVD Manager”. Click on “New” and create a Virtual Device with details as in the screenshot below.

Step 9 - Click “OK” on the result window.

Step 10 -Select the virtual device you just created from the list and click on “Start”.

Step 11 - No need to change anything in the Launch Options Just Click on the “Launch” button.

Step 12 - The emulator will start after a few Command Prompt windows flicker and then you will see the following screen where your Android device will be booting up. It may take around 5 minutes to boot when loading for the first time.

Step 13 - Once your Android 4.0 loaded in Emulator, you will see the Welcome Screen.

How to Download Android App APKs From Google Play Store To Your PC

If you want to learn how to download and Android App APK file from google play store, there is a Windows based application called “Real APK Leecher”.  Real APK Leecher is a Java application for Windows, Linux and Mac that help you download a bunch of Android apps from Google Play Store to your PC’s desktop with minimum actions. This application provides an option to to download Android applications of your choice to your PC in a convenient way by using your Google account information as associated with your Android device.
To get started, you first need to find your Device ID. Simply enter *#*#8255#*#* into your phone dialer, you’ll be shown your device ID in GTalk Service Monitor. There is another option to know your Android Device ID, you can also use an Android app called Device ID that will quickly reveal the Device ID to you.
Real APK Leecher is not an installable application. Download it from Google Code Website Here, extract it from the downloaded zip file and run it. It will bring up its Options window to get you started with the necessary configuration before you can use the application.
Here you need to Enter the email address of your Google account that is associated with your Android phone/device, as well as the device ID that you have retrieved by using the above mentioned process.
The Options console also allows changing your default regional settings such as language and country for faking the location. This way, you can download an app that is otherwise not available in your own country. In addition, you can fake your carrier via entering any custom SIM Operator Numberic (SON). This is optional however, and you may leave it empty if you don’t require it. Finally, select the destination directory on your computer where you want to download the APKs,  After specifying all these settings, click Save.

Real APK Leecher’s main screen will come up. If you want to make any changes to the previously defined settings, simply open the Edit menu and click Options. To download an app from Google Play Store, type the app’s name in the search field at the top right and press enter. Apps can be searched by vendor name, package name or both (custom). The tool displays both the free and paid applications, but the paid ones can only be downloaded if you’ve already purchased them from Google Play under the same Google account you are using with the application. To download an app, right click on its name in the search results list, and select ‘Download this app’.

Once the App started downloading on your Computer, its progress will be shown in a separate window, from where you can cancel the download or hide that window for performing other tasks on your screen.

 

How to Enable Third Party Apps Installation on Android Phones

One should perform these steps to enable third party apps installation on the Android phone/ device with APK file (already downloaded on SD memory Card of Phone/Device):

For Android OS version 2.3 and earlier:

Step 1 – Go to Settings.
Step 2 – Go to Applications.
Step 3 – Tap and check “Unknown sources” box.
Step 4 – Tap ‘OK” when it show the warning.
Thats how you can enable the installation of APK files on your phone manually.

For Android OS version 4.0+:

Step 1 – Go to Settings.
Step 2 – Go to Security.
Step 3 – Scroll down and check “Unknown sources” box.
Step 4 – Tap ‘OK” when it show the warning.
All Done, Now you can install 3rd party Apps through APK files on your device with Android 4.0+ OS.

Root Noir A900/Mediatek Mt6589 based mobile

Steps How to root Noir A900/ Mediatek MT6589 based Phones
1.Install the USB drivers, or use attached PDAnet drivers. Refer to thread on how to install PDAnet drivers.
2.Enable USB debugging on your phone from Settings > Developer options
3.Download and extract attached mt6589 Auto Root package in a folder on your PC
4.Connect your phone
5.Go to the folder you extracted mt6589 Auto Root package files and run the "run.bat" file by double clicking on it
6.Press any key to continue (See Attached screenshots)
7.Wait for process to finish and press any key again.(See Attached screenshots)
8.Your phone will reboot automatically. Congratulations! You now have a rooted phone.

This will open a text file copy paste it in a note pad in your pc and save by the same name mentioned here along the recovery.img file in one folder and load the scattering file from SP Flash tools and download it to your device and have CWM on your phone.  

Auto Root MTK6589 (One click root) Noir A500, Noir A600, Noir A900 and other Quad core phone of Qmobiles

It is also very similiar to rooting MTK6577 based Jiayu phones with a batch file mentioned here:Jiayu G2 & G3 simple root

It is called auto root or one click root, because the rooting is done with a MSDOS batch file automatically. If you know how to click, you should be able to do it.

It has been reported on various devices, including ZOPO ZP980/C2/ZP810, Feiteng H9500, Star X920 Butterfly, HDC Galaxy S4, Star S7189.

Steps:

1. If not already installed, install the USB drivers. Download the drivers from here, or use PDAnet drivers. Refer to this thread on how to install PDAnet drivers.
2. Enable USB debugging on your phone from Settings > Developer options
3. Download and extract Auto Root package in a folder on your PC
4. Connect your phone
5. Go to the folder you extracted Auto Root package files and run the "run.bat" file by double clicking on it
6. Press any key to continue
   
7. Wait for process to finish and press any key again.
   
8. Your phone will reboot automatically. Congratulations! You now have a rooted phone.

Finally found a root method for Qmobile Noir A500 Users. 100% Working.
The files you’ll need:


1)Download and Install MTK Drivers
2)Auto Root Files
What to do:
1.Make sure USB debugging is enabled. Go to settings > developer options > enable USB debugging
2.Download AND Install MTK Drivers
3.Extract the MTK6589 Auto Root folder from the .rar download
4.Connect your phone to PC visa USB
5.Run run.bat from the extracted MTK6589 Auto Root folder
6.Press any key and wait while it roots your phone
7.After finished, now reboot
8.Bam, you’re rooted. Verify root with a ‘Root Checker’ app from Play, or run any app you know requires root and you should see a root permissions request
Note:
If the driver doesnt get installed automatically you will have to install it manually through Device manager. Actually its a driver of Cynus T1 but don't worry, just install it and go ahead.
