Those hit hardest and longest by the failed update are getting some relief.The UK and Ireland are finally seeing the long-awaited stability patch arriving on their Galaxy S3. The build number is I9300XXUGMK6 and it was put together on November 28th. While other recipients of the stability patch have reported problems elsewhere, the early comments seem to indicate that the S3 may have been patched decently well. More countries will follow soon and we'll keep you posted on the feedback. Sleep and lag issues seem to be gone and RAM management is reportedly better, but the Gallery is crashing when attempting to share.
It may not be perfect, but it's a darn sight better than it has been.It seems fair to say, even at this early stage, that Samsung has done an ''acceptable'' job on the stability update for the S3, but far from a perfect job. Some users with the update are reporting some of the same problems and even some new ones, even if most of the major issues have been fixed. One Samsung Mobile UK, a Facebook post had the following to say: ''guess you solved one problem and replaced it with another'' (Mandy Churchman-Johns), while another said ''updated again as it can't be any worse than the last one, can it?'' (William Henry Moore). Not exactly encouraging words from customers of the largest Android maker on the planet, but at least it's something.
